The “Tour de Matchedash” Series is an 8 cache
series placed to showcase the beauty and solitude of the Matchedash
Lake, Upper Eastern Lake and Lower Eastern Lake areas of the
Matchedash Barrens.

From the point of distance paddled you are now
about 1/2 way but only about 1/3 of the way time
wise. The paddle from Rocky Point into Lower Eastern Lake was
extremely windy and the crossing from the channel to where we
pulled in was through whitecaps and straight into the wind.
We climbed out of the canoe and relaxed for a couple of minutes
before attempting the climb up to the top of the hill. Once
at the top we hiked a bit and found that the whole top of the hill
is flat and relatively clear so it was a bit hard trying to "hide"
a cache. We did our best.
Once you are back in your canoe you will paddle
arround the point heading SW into a channel, keep an eye out on
your right for the Trappers Cabin.
