This cache is located near to the Lancaster to Kendal Canal. Easy access with parking at Stainton end of the Canal.
The Northern reaches of the Lancaster to Kendal Canal stretch from Tewitfield, South of Burton-in-Kendal, to Canal Head in Kendal. The section North of the A65 Kirkby Lonsdale to Kendal road is partially navigable with a small canal boat running from moorings adjacent to The Crooklands Hotel just South of Endmoor. We have selected this location for our first cache to provide some enjoyment for walkers of all ages (its flat, easy going and there is a drinking establishment at the Southern extremity). You can choose to do this as a simple cache and dash or extend the walk into a 2 hour amble.
The original contents of the cache are :- penknife, blue car, rugby ball, pen, ruler and a felt tip pen.
