Geocache Description:

On the way to Caines Head or North Beach you will find this lush oasis of fantastical trees and moss covered rock surrounded by the swirling surf filled with creatures great and small all brought together in this incredible area and all there sharing in the existence we all walk in together. This little nirvana found so near and yet so far away from the town of Seward. The remains of the pier in what was the harbor stand to remind of days longs long and are frequented by the birds of the sea daily as they perch and prey and carry on in that comical salty bird way.

The hike to reach this mecca can be long and is obtainable only at low tide, but everything worth achieving has some consideration price. Why not take the day or even two and make the journey out along the beach and discover something new.

Park at the Lowell Point parking area and hike the trail to the beach and then follow the beach trail out until you reach the North Beach trail. If the tide is too high please use the trail and go overland to North Beach. The beach crossing can be very unforgiving and even Shangri-la is not worth losing your life over. The beach access is only available at a 4' low tide or lower (3' low tide in the winter). Please allow yourself plenty of time to make the trek and come prepared as you will be spending at least 12 hours out here.

There are two public use cabins available to rent but they tend to be booked all the time. Camping is permitted on the beach areas. Why not visit the old Fort why you are here or continue on overland to South Beach. This area is filled with tremendous beauty. just remember that with beauty also comes danger and be prepared for the weather to turn in an instant. Dress accordingly and don't take the area lightly as it can be quite unforgiving to the unprepared. Enjoy the area and don't forget your camera.

Please post pictures of the area so others can see the beauty as it changes throughout the years and the seasons.

Please camo the container after you have found it so as not to be visible as this area gets lots of summer traffic.

There is an unactivated EMT geocoin for the FTF.

Cache On!

Congrats to WaCoAk on a sneaky FTF, the premium status has been removed as enough locals have had a run at this one to add it to the pool. The coords can bounce a lot in here and the clue should help once you get to the area. Don't forget your camera and lunch as this is a great spot for a little solitude.
