Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache and because the Cache Owner has not been online since November 2014. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Due to the popularity of the original Iditarod Travel Bug Hotel along the Iditarod trail we have added another cache (also located near the Ceremonial Iditarod Trail) to help in the exchange of travel bugs and SWAG. This is a convienent, easy to find cache - you can almost drive up and keep your car running while you log and exchange items.

The original Iditarod Travel Bug Hotel (GCY0YH) has been archived and is about 15 miles further down the Iditarod trail. That cache was popular, easy to find, cache for exchanging items and Travel Bugs.

We have placed this cache; also close the Iditarod Trail, to further encourage the exchange of TBs with a quick and convenient find.

The ceremonial start of the Iditarod dog sled race is held on the first Saturday in March each year. The trail begins in downtown Anchorage and weaves its way through city streets and trails to the east side of Anchorage near the Chugach mountain foothills where the ceremonial trail ends. A few years ago the ceremonial start trail extended all the way to Eagle River (on the real Iditarod trail) near the original Iditarod Travel Bug Hotel (GCY0YH) is located.

This cache is located near the trail as it passes through the east side of Anchorage. To help with exchanging Travel Bugs and other SWAG this cache is located in an easy accessible location.

Cache is a large ammo box.
