Excalibur Traditional Cache

There are two ways to approach this cache. One is the longer yet more interesting hike adding 1.3 miles (each way). The other shorter way has a total round trip distance of no more than a mile. The longer route starts at the bottom of what is called the "Two Trees Trail". Taking this trail increases the elevation gain approximately 1,000 ft (according to the GPS unit). From the upper parking lot the elevation gain is less than 200 feet to the cache.
The longer route on the "Two Trees Trail" begins at a dirt parking lot (it's a safe place to leave your vehicle) at these coordinates: N 33° 59.123' W117° 18.382' (or look for a "Two Trees Rd. in the City of Riverside). The hike on "Two Trees Trail" is very pleasant during the cooler season. At a certain point, you might see on your GPS unit the distance to the cache increasing, but don't worry about this, and follow the trail until you reach an intersecting trail (this is the end of "Two Trees Trail" at: N 33° 58.943' W 117° 17.401') near the road by the yellow house (park ranger's home). This is also near where you would have began the easier way to the cache where you can begin your hike from a small dirt parking lot (this parking lot is reached from the Pigeon Pass area) at these coordinates: N 33° 58.856' W117° 17.400'. The hike to the cache site is straight forward until a little "cross-country" near the end of the trek. The coordinates given above are not the actual site of the cache for good reason. At the coordinate given, you will see a bolder. Climb on top of the bolder to where you will see a small arrow showing you the direction to the cache. With this information, you should be able to readily find the cache. Remove nothing from the cache site other than what is in the contents of the cache box...!
