Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series that we have placed on the West Fife cycle way. The route is all on tarmac, it also connects with the three circular routes in West Fife if you wish to explore further. The route is reasonably flat and is suitable for adults and younger children, as part of a great cycle run, or alternatively, there are many car parking areas along the route where you can gain access if you’re feeling less energetic. Details of this Route are in the West Fife Cycle Route.

The route begins in Dunfermline, favorite residence of Queen Margaret, who married King Malcolm 3rd of Scotland in 1070. It will take you along a section of the former Dunfermline to Alloa railway. The railway opened in 1850 for passengers.

I have placed the cache at the opposite side of a former greyhound track; the surrounding fence can still bee seen on the right hand side when facing west, I think the greyhound track was called the western.
There was another track in Dunfermline which was called the eastern, it was situated near East End park

Parking is available at the Williams Street car park N 56 04.612 W 003 28.699 at the beginning of this walk. Please bring your own pencil.
