Geocache Description:

Updated container as ammo box was stolen. No longer an ammo container. Photo in maintenance log shows where container is for obvious hint. Located just off the Nature Trail trail in Albert E. Sleeper State Park. The trail gently winds as it crosses small hills in the landscape. Bring pen.

Pat Majeski

This is no ordinary cache. This cache is dedicated to a wonderful person and cacher, Pat Majeski. She passed away on April 18, 2008. Pat’s last cache was GC1ADIE Gone and (almost) Forgotten. Hence the title for this cache as Pat will not be forgotten.

Here is a little background information on Pat:
Patricia was born and lived in Harbor Beach, MI retired from the Army, and was an avid geocacher and a friend to many. Team “Us” consisted of Patricia and her geodog Tasha. Patricia went caching whenever possible. She loved her family time, but loved to travel. Pat enjoyed computers and of course Geocaching!!! Through the winter she started armchair caching on the computer, but told us she was anxious to get back outdoors.

Patricia was a mother of one daughter and grandma to Chelsea, Chrysta and Colin.

Patricia was a heart transplant recipient in 1996. A few years ago, Patricia told us that she was already living on borrowed time and cherished every day that she was still here.

This is a basic cache set in one of our state parks. The cache is on the Nature Trail. Due to the wet conditions, bug spray will be needed in season.

Albert E. Sleeper State Park is situated on the north west tip of the thumb and has 723 acres of forest, wetlands, sandy beach and dunes located on the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron. The northern edge of the park has beautiful beaches on the Saginaw Bay shore.

A Michigan State Park Motor Vehicle Permit is required for entry.
