Geocache Description:

The FAB series is set along parts of the Ribble link and Lancaster canal. It is a gentle circular walk of about 5 miles so you’ll need to allow about 3 hours to complete it in one go.

The Ribble Link is Britain's newest inland waterway, the four-mile Millennium Ribble Link runs around the outskirts of Preston and flows into the River Ribble, which connects with the Leeds & Liverpool Canal’s Rufford Branch. Opened in 2002 the Link is tidal, which governs its operating times. It contains nine locks :- seven canal, one river and one sea lock.

Thunderbirds was the 5th Supermarionation series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson in the mid 1960s. The series followed the adventures of International Rescue, an organisation created to help those in grave danger using technically advanced equipment and machinery.

The mission is to capture the villain known as The Hood by finding 10 character Micros (FAB 1 to FAB 10) and obtain a code from each of them. Then you need to seek out FAB 11 - Brains to find out how to use the codes to find the co-ordinates for FAB Final – The Hood. It is important to know what code came from what character. The code can be found on the first page of the log books.

Good Luck and we hope you enjoy the mission.

Brains is the 11th character in the series. He was orphaned at a young age and adopted by a Cambridge University Professor who recognised the boy's genius and encouraged his education. 25 year old Brains has brain power and inventive genius beyond his age. As the inventor of all the machines used by the organisation, he is never satisfied with what he produces and is constantly working on modifications to his creations.

This cache is a craftily hidden tupperware box so if you are the sort of geocacher that can't find a haystack in the middle of a field you may want to take a look at the spoiler photos. The code cracker to find the co-ordinates for the final is placed inside the cache.
