Geocache Description:

According to a boulder-mounted plaque...

"In 1976 the International Society of Arboriculture and the National Arborists Association jointly recognized this tree as one which was living during the American Revolutionary Period." This plaque stands just inside a split-rail fence surrounding an enormous redwood tree cluster--Giant Twins.

After paying homage to the moss-covered mammoths, follow the right side of the fence to the opposite side of the enclosure. Once there, look diagonally right to a smaller cluster of redwoods nearby. Within these clusters lie the stump remains of two wannabe Giant Twins. Check out the split tree growing just to the rear of the green, green stump. Due to extreme tree cover, coordinates may vary.

The container is a clear plastic Lock & Lock box filled with trade items and a log. Please bring your own pen.

To drive to the Giant Twins, veer right at the Valley View 3 Campground entrance and continue along the road, watching for the Giant Twins Trailhead on your right. This location may also be reached by hiking the Giant Twins Trail either from Sprig Trail or the road.

Mt. Madonna County Park is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. A vehicle use fee is collected at the park's main entrance.
