Geocache Description:

Old Abandoned Park in Stromness.

When I was a kid(Scubadad) My mom would stop at this park to let me play on the swings, slide and even on one of those merry-go-round things that you spin real fast then hold on while trying not to get sick. There was a "Flock" of horses in the nearby feild that would come over and let you touch their noses.......
20 something years later, no swings, no slides, no horses or merry-go-rounds. Grass is long and the park looks forgotten.
In the middle of the park stands the only thing left other then the driveway. A concrete Cairn that at one time held a plaque, I asked a few people about what it said but most don't even remember that the place was even here.

If you happen to know what the name of the park was or even what the plaque said please leave it in your log.
Thanks and happy hunting.

Update"May 22 by Rivertown Rednecks (22 found)
After checking with a local historian, we think the park was called "Sherbrooke Centennial Park", and was created in 1967 to commemorate Canada's Centennial. Don't know what happened, but obviously it is no longer being maintained. Maybe the township ran out of money."
