Geocache Description:

Located deep in the woods near Harmon Valley. We were in the area for a quad ralley and decided to place a cache for the adventurists! I would strongly advise against bringing children along for this one.

Although the area is accessible by quad, weather conditions can make this area nearly impassable at times. I flipped my quad twice in the mud and water (sudden drops or obstacles under the surface), and would suggest that if you intend to visit the area you plan to walk in along the many trails and cut lines. If you are intent on quadding, please travel in a group with multiple winches, and pack tow straps. Many quads became overheated in this part of the course rendering them inoperable.

CELL PHONE SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE. Please plan accordingly. Let someone know where you are going, and arrange a check in time with them. As you are in the wilderness, bear spray is advised.

Ensure you have marked the location of your vehicle before you set out, and set your GPS to drop "breadcrumbs" along your journey. Follow your own trail back out. Once you are in the bush, the many trails and cutlines can become disorienting!

As a mother of three, I would not bring my own children to this cache. Please do not bring yours! The difficulty of the terrain changes based on the amount of snowfall and/or rain. On May 10, 2008 some areas still had snow and ice. Plan ahead for a variety of conditions!

Now that all of the safety info has been passed along, Let's talk about the fun part! The area is absolutely beautiful! You will see small lakes, streams, wildlife, and mossy trees. The cache is a small camo tupperware container with a logbook and small trade items inside. I have placed it under a fallen log, and averaged the multiple waypoints that I took. My GPS reading were:

N 56 12.924 W 116 42.199
N 56 12.925 W 116 42.198
N 56 12.926 W 116 42.197

Good luck and happy caching!
