Cub Scout Pack 91 - Den 7 in Plainfield, IL
The Pack 91 Den 7 Cub Scouts, in Plainfield, Illinois, were Tiger Cubs when they placed this cache, they have since completed the Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos awards. On March 4th, 2012 the boys earned their Arrow of Light, the highest Cub Scout award. All five of the boys from Den 7 are now moving on to their new Boy Scout Troop. This cache will serve as a reminder of their time in Cub Scouts.
This was their first geocache and were learning about this adventurous new sport. They each placed an item in the cache to represent their participation.
Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings. Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy's sense of belonging.
