The cache is located on private property with the permission of the owner. The cache is in the back yard of the house located at 3777 W. 139th Street. Please bring a pen to sign the log.
Today is Mother’s Day, May 11th, 2008. Last year on mother’s day one of the gifts I gave my mom was a geocache. The geocache was named “Mom’s Cache”. Mom enjoyed meeting and talking with all the geocachers that came by to hunt for her cache. One of the geocachers, SuzyJazz, even gave mom a new name. Because of SuzyJazz my mom is known to the local geocachers as Momma-Sarge.
During the past year as Momma-Sarge watched the people come and go she had a chance to talk to most of the geocachers. She has enjoyed making new friends and swapping recipes. After they left she would always call me with the news of another visit to the cache. When I answered the phone and it was mom calling, she would tell me about the geocachers that had just left after finding the cache. Then before she hung up she would always tell me the same thing, “You made this one too easy for them, and can you please make it a little harder for them?”
It’s now one year later and Mothers Day once again. When I asked her what she wanted this year she told me without hesitation, she wanted the cache in her back yard to be harder to find. And of course I said, sure thing mom, no problem. As they say, mom knows best.
You are free to park in the driveway while hunting the cache. Be forewarned, Momma-Sarge has been known to scold geocachers that do not use the driveway.
Remember everyone, no night caching on this one.
