This cache has been archived.

bennet: Getting ready to archive...
All bugs/coins have been logged out. All pics have been uploaded. If you attended but your photo was not taken/uploaded, I apologize. There were a lot of people there, and it was hit-and-miss to get everyone.
Thanks again to everyone for coming.
If you still haven't entered your attended log (I know of at least one), you can still do so on the archived page, at least for a while.
Archived.

Geocache Description:

Everybody knows Reviewer Web-ling, right?

If you have been an active geocacher in the southwest Ohio region at any time during the past five years, especially if you have ever hidden a geocache here, then you must certainly know who this man is. For years, Reviewer Web-ling has performed the duties of
reviewing, publishing, monitoring, and regulating all of the geocaches in this wide and very geo-active region in the Midwest. He is a regular geocacher too - goes by the name Web-ling. He makes great hides, and he participates in some of those "other" geo-sites out there. His real-world name is Rich.

Also, if you are an active geocacher in this area, you have probably noticed that Rich has not been doing any reviewing lately. He is taking a geobreak and focusing on some other projects right now. He hasn't decided whether his leave will be temporary or permanent.

You know, this region of the country is a geocaching hotspot. The popularity of this sport has spread quickly through this area, and it has grown here continuously since its arrival. The level of activity has never paused, and it continues to grow. There are many hiders here, and the hiders are creative and diverse and are frequently trying to come up with new and original things.

Rich has managed the review and publication (and subsequent monitor and follow up) of all the geocaches in this hotspot. He has adapted to the continuously changing guidelines, processes, and edicts of Groundspeak and geocaching.com. He has researched, understood, and applied all the different detailed rules of all the individual organizations and land managers involved, and has successfully adapted when those rules have changed. Just look at his reviewer account profile to get an idea of what I am talking about. He has done all of that in a fair, correct, and consistent manner.

When I think of all that, I cannot even start to think of how to measure the amount of energy he has put into it all.

Rich is a giver. He has donated tons of his time, energy, and resources to the sport of geocaching for our benefit. Without people like him, this sport that we love so much would not be possible.

We owe this man a great big "thank you". Will you join us?

We will meet at the Golden Corral in Middletown, located at the posted coordinates, on Wednesday, 11 June. We will show up about 6:30pm. Stay as long as you like, but they'll kick us all out at 9pm. Middletown was chosen because it is a compromise between the Dayton and Cincinnati areas, and is reasonably close to both. The restaurant is also a very convenient on/off to I-75.

We will meet. We will eat. We will talk. If you have never met Rich in the flesh, he will be there. You can meet other geocachers as well. You can trade bugs. You can show off your new g-unit. Come one, come all. Hope to see you there!
