Geocache Description:

While Fort Stevens and the rich military history get much attention from visitors, there is another little spot that is often overlooked. It use to have a replica of history that predates the Fort by many, many, MANY years.

Please take some time to enjoy the history and trails. The river is about 200 feet north. It won’t take you LONG to find the location and if you have to pay fee to park at least there are a few caches to find before you head back to where the HOUSE used to be. There are five or six geocaches within a one mile radius. The container is my typical three quart container painted to blend into it's surroundings. If you are up for a bit of a hike or bike ride you can park at Battery Russell for free and take the trail to the cache.
