Ceanothus is a word that is difficult to say, let alone spell. Fortunately, as hikers, all we have to do is read the word on a trail marker!
Ceanothus Trail is the center link in a Madrone-to-Madrone Trail connection. As with other interior trails in Jacks Peak, its shoulders and surrounding areas are laden with poison oak. However, a fallen log bordering the trail provided surprisingly poison oak-free hide possibilities.
The container is a clear plastic Lock & Lock box filled with small trade items and a log. Please bring your own pen.
Due to extreme tree cover coordinates may vary.
At Jacks Peak County Park, day use hours vary. When I visited, the posted park hours were 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Although free parking is available at the overlook, paying the vehicle use fee will allow you to park very near the trailheads.
