Off yer trolley! [Colli ei ben] (Gabalfa, Cardiff) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

DHJ&P: This one has become more trouble than is worth, for what’s supposed to be a cache and dash! The container - originally a very clever fake bolt type - has gone missing so many times, and it never seems to be replaced where it should be; in fact, when I went to check it today, there was nothing to be seen, not even the magnet that some people have found.
So I’m afraid it’s time to give up on it.

Geocache Description:

This micro cache is located in the car park of a well known national supermarket.

Off yer trolleycaches are intended to provide fairly easy drive-by caches together with the opportunity to CITO close to a recycling point and nip in to do the shopping too.

This particular cache is within the grounds of a well known national supermarket. The site was a former British Telecom Depot which was redeveloped by Co-op as a “Hello” superstore. On September 14th 1998 the current owners opened the store we see today.

In keeping with the “Off yer trolley” theme, this cache is placed for:-

(1) Sheer annoyance factor, in the midst of muggles and therefore (slightly) technically difficulty

(2) Unfortunately, when I went on my reconnaissance mission, I found the recycling facility that used to be at this store has been removed. So you can’t practice CITO here!

If you time it well, you can search, find the cache, sign the log then arrive back at the shop just after your partner has paid for the groceries!

This shop is the wrong side of the river to be in Llandaff. If you venture across the River Taff, there are some close by caches. See this bookmark.

Congratulations to team Von-First Horst  for a yet another “first to find” and winning Cardiff’s first “Supermarket dash cache!” If it was in my power, you would have 100 club card points too!

Permission was kindly granted to use the “Off yer trolley” title by Cromstout .
