Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of wells around Aberdeen.

This large granite well, now sited in front of the David Welch Winter Gardens in the Duthie Park stood at one time at the junction of Great Northern Road and Clifton Road in front of The Northern Hotel. The historical records of Aberdeenshire show that the original site was "destroyed" I can only presume this was during construction and the movement of the well.

It was erected by Miss Jane Forbes Taylor in memory of her father, Alexander Taylor, a wholesale woollen draper in Aberdeen.

A feature of the wellwas that it caters for citizens, horses and dogs - with water available at three different levels. Cache is a magnetic nano. The railings in the photo are now gone. A selection of photos available in the gallery, more recent and some older ones.
