In this park there is a tree planted by Roly Bird, Mayor of Burlington 1978 - 1991. Every Fall, Mayor Roly Bird would gather Horse Chestnuts from a tree behind City Hall and present them to citizens of Burlington, and Visitors. All who accepted the fruit from this tree were promised good fortune. You are encouraged to take a fallen Horse Chestnut from the tree. Have faith, work hard and find caches and you will have GOOD FORTUNE.
