Geocache Description:


UPDATE:  Due to easy border crossings between the UAE and Oman only being available to UAE and GCC nationals, I am marking this cache as being in Oman. Previously it was available to UAE residents of all nationalities but this is no longer the case and you may have difficulty finding the cache if you are not a UAE or GCC national.

 

WELCOME TO THE HATTA TRAVEL BUG HOTEL

This cache is hidden in the Hatta area. The last section of the approach requires a 4X4, though you can get reasonably close using a regular car. From the parking spot, i.e. as far as you can go in a 4X4, it is a walk of around 10 minutes to the cache location. The cache is hidden between the rocks. Though the cache is technically in Oman, you can reach the cache site without going through the Oman border check-point, i.e. the one where they generally just make sure that you have vehicle insurance for Oman. We placed the cache by first going through the check-point, and then heading towards the cache location. However, upon returning to the Hatta road we found a quick route, i.e. you can turn off the Hatta road before needing to go through the check-point.

ORIGINAL CONTENTS: Many travel items that required a starting point for further travels, including my Blarney Coin (GCC – MAR – 2008) and my April Showers coin (GCC – APR – 2008), and various other sundry items, the cache notice, a logbook and a pen. HAPPY GEOCACHING!!
