Geocache Description:

We had to keep this listed as a multi-cache. So...for the first part of the cache you can go inside and see where the travel bug display used to me. It's not there now. The go to N 47° 36.883 W 122° 11.595 for the actual geocache.

UPDATE October 2008: The indoor geocache is now gone and the outdoor geocache remains so that the Travel Bugs can come home. We are not launching any new ones right now. If you find one inside, it is probably waiting to be collected and returned to the student. Please feel free to hunt for and log this geocacache as long as it remains live! We are leaving the other information below for archival purposes but much of it is outdated.

UPDATE June 20, 2008: The outdoor geocache container can be found any time of any day. Although satellite reception appears to be good here, it actually seems to be affected by the tall buildings nearby. Please use the hint, as your coordinates could be 100 feet off. You'll need to step off the walkway, behind a bench, once you get to the final spot. Do not step on plants, please. The cache is an ammo can in a small wooden housing.

If you park here, get a ticket that can be validated inside. (If you come between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.) Technically, you don't need to get your ticket validated if you are only parking for a few minutes.

These Travel Bugs are works of public art created by teens in Bellevue. There will be approximately 200 of these TBs launched over the course of summer 2008. Each one wants to travel throughout King County and visit a particular location. Please check the goal! Once that goal is reached, the TB wants to travel some more and return to this geocache later in the summer. Please check for the return date!

We would really appreciate it if you would take photos and post them here or on the TB page. Thank you!

The sculptural Travel Bugs were created using a variety of recycled materials as a teen project for the 2008 Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition. The theme of the exhibition is Sculpted Green. Many of the works to be on display at Bellevue City Hall and the Downtown Park from June 14 to Oct. 5, 2008 will relate sculpture to sustainability and provide artful inspiration for green living through their message and materials. Visit the second floor of City Hall to view an evolving exhibition of select Sculptural Travel Bugs.
