This cache is a short distance from Natural Tunnel State Park. There is a pull off for several cars near the cache site. This is pretty level terrain, but watch out for traffic cause it could get close if you walk on the outside of the barrier. I would recommend walking on the backside of the rail. BYOP and place cache back just as you found it, so that everyone can enjoy the hunt!
The Ode To Crabby series is a culmination of caches in some of my favorite area places. So who is Crabby?
Crabby is a crowd favorite that lives near the ever popular and challenging cache site of “a nightmarish micro” by local cacher Surrealchef.
I met Crabby on my first attempt to find nightmare and several times since. He is a veteran and a drifter and seems to be a pretty decent fellow. So to pay homage I am doing a series dedicated to him.
These caches will be ranging from nano to extremely large and will be scattered through out this area in some of my favorite places.
I hope that these will bring enjoyment to everyone. I will be giving a special “crabby prize” to who ever completes the series first.
Now on to the cache……..This is a beautiful area, due to my work I have spent a lot of time here and have found it to be void of caching opportunities. This are has a lot of activities, especially in the summer for everyone to enjoy.
The cache is in a traditional container. The coordinates were taken about 100 times and averaged. There is an abundance of trees in the area so the GPS might jump around, but nothing that a good ole application of geosmarts can’t figure out! Accuracy within 10ft.
You will be looking for a small container with a log sheet, please screw the top back on tightly to prevent soggy logs! Please place the container back in the original spot because leaving it out in the open could get it muggled.
