Geocache Description:

This cache is not meant to be difficult or time consuming.... but you may want to spend some extra time here.

Near the cache is what was originally called The Guernsey Jug. It opened around 1950 and had always been an important part of the community. The Greenwood family was the original owner and the present farm located across route 7 is their farm that supplied all the dairy products used at The Guernsey Jug in the early years. It's a popular stop for the river traffic with boat docks for small boats and jet skis. Hot rods, antique cars and motorcycles are often found cruising the area. Every year the class pictures from the former Newport High School were taken in front of the HUGE oak tree in the picnic area.

Also near the cache is an Ohio Historical Marker with interesting information on the lives of Captain Gorgon C. Greene and his wife, Captain Mary Becker Greene and their lives on the river. They were famous for the original Delta Queen.... and many accomplishments on the scenic Ohio River.

FTF Congratulations go to Tajkler. Way to go!
