Geocache Description:

A short walk of approximately an hour and a quarter across the rough moorland of Llangattock Mountain/Mynydd Llangatwg. A series of 3 small containers, with the first two containing the coordinates to the next, and the third to the final (actual) cache. Parking is waymarked below.

The views as you walk round are great in decent weather to numerous tops in the Black Mountains, the Central Beacons and to the hills and valleys to the south.

The co-ordinates listed above are for the first clue container. Terrain underfoot can be a little hard-going but there are no hills to climb. The ground can be a little loose on the first container - I recommend you descend along the grass, taking care when stepping onto the boulders. It will be best not to be directly below anyone if they descend the boulders.

All the containers are concealed in boulder fields / areas of natural rock, and may require minor stones (no bigger than a hand) moving to find them. They are not buried though, and should not be buried when replaced after use please.

The clue containers will lead you to the final cache placed close to a group of buildings on the moor - this is the old grenade range where the Army would practice around the Second World War. The original contents include some Coleg Gwent keyrings, prayer flags brought back from Nepal, logbook and pencils plus a Quebec Geocoin.

Good luck

Change of owner from Boney Bones (thanks very much for setting up this cache all those years ago) to Funk to Funky on the 27th of February 2015.

I have moved the first clue container slightly across the sinkhole and the three clue containers have been changed to tall 30ml sealed specimen containers with the co-ords for the next in them - please do not open them. They look like this (but inside a camo bag): IMG_20150228_101600813

When I placed the new clue containers I checked up on the final and it was in good condition and dry so left that alone.
