Wally was new to Geocaching, and after finding eight caches, he
was ready to place one of his own. He found a great view he wanted
to share, but how many suitable hiding places could he find? That's
right, zero.
Just then he spotted an old wall, full of gaps which looked
perfect for concealing a Geocache, so in it went.
Six weeks later it had had seven visitors, so he went back to
check up on it, and was shocked to find the wall had been all but
destroyed. Several comments in the logbook mentioned problems with
accurate coords and a non helpful hint.
Wally learnt two valuable lessons:
- Never place a cache in a Dry Stone Wall
- If you put a cache near a wall, always make sure the coords are
spot on, and the hint is helpful enough to stop any inexperienced
cachers looking in the wrong place.
The moral of the story is "Don't Be A Dry Stone
Wally!"
