Geocache Description:

Passage East, County Waterford.

The pretty fishing village of Passage East is located in the east of the county on the banks of Waterford Harbour. If you walk along the water's edge you will see the small pier with it's fishing boats. You should also be able to spot the ferry which crosses constantly between here and Ballyhack in County Wexford on the opposite side. It's a popular short cut for commuters and tourists wanting to access west Wexford from this part of Waterford, thereby avoiding the 50km road trip via New Ross. Away from the water there are a couple of cosy little public squares surrounded by brightly painted townhouses.

Passage is just 7km east of Waterford City at the end of the R683. If coming from Wexford you might like to use the ferry via Ballyhack. It is about 4km north of Duncannon just off the R733. Make sure you check the final sailing times, as they vary from winter to summer.

The cache is a small plastic canister. BYOP.

WARNING: this cache is near the river bank - be careful when the tide is high.
