Geocache Description:

Wonderful little park on Mud Lake which is part of the Waterloo State Recreation Area. This could be a great place to get together to strategize caching expeditions.

Come take a break from the crazy busy life and stop here for a picnic and some time to enjoy the wild natural areas of Waterloo.
You'll be pleasantly surprised by the natural beauty of the lake view.
While exploring the park I was honked at by a goose on the water...who seemed to have an awful lot to say to me.
He and his bird buddies were singing and snorting at me while I ran coords. It's one of those set back and relax a spell spots that I wish I had discovered a long time ago.

Small container just right for a log book and a few trade items with a FTF prize for the one who takes the time to come out and enjoy what we sometimes take for granted.

Bugs were not bad at placement, but I will not guarantee that they are not of man-eating capacity by mid summer. Bring deet!

Be sure to discover all that the Waterloo Rec area has to offer while in the neighborhood. The Discovery Center is not that far away and has lots of information and exploration opportunities. Camping is very nearby at Sugarloaf Lake and Green Lake Campgrounds.

Placed under the agreement between MIGO and the State Park and Rec Dept. Please respect the environment. Enjoy yourselves while here and leave with lots of good memories.

Be warned, when I sweet talked my husband into coming out so I could show him this park and to place the cache, my GPSr (which has a mind of its own on occasion), wanted me to take a road from the north that I do not believe exists. So much for impressing my spouse with my knowledge of the area....
I ended up approaching from the west on main roads and it was quite easy to find.

Don't forget to have a State Park Sticker for this one!
