Another cache in the Kelsborrow Wayfinders Sandstone series. This
one replaces Caves and Sandstone which got muggled once too often.
It's a stiff climb to the top and there are some steep drops along
the trail at this point so be careful. However, once you have
reached the top the cache is easily accessible and no climbing is
required. Just think about the title.
The Sandstone Trail is a long distance trail running 32 miles from
Frodsham to Whitchurch. More details on the trail can be found at
Sandstone Trail
This cache is located a short walk from the trigpoint on Rawhead
which is the highest point on the trail. You can log the trigpoint
at Trigpointing
There are a number of places to park with possibly the best
being on Coppermine Lane so you can combine this cache with
Pines and Sandstone. Another option is to park by the telephone
kiosk at Gallantry Bank. This is on a minor road on the Bickerton
side of the A534. There is nowhere convenient to park on the
Rawhead side of this road. If you approach from Gallantry Bank you
will pass
Rhododendrons and Sandstone. There is closer parking on New
Lane which is a dead end on the other side of the hill but we would
request that cachers do not park along this narrow lane.
The cache is a tupperware container in a camouflage bag. Please
make sure that the cache is properly concealed when you replace
it.
