Geocache Description:

This cache is located inside the fenced picnic area in the Pilanesberg reserve. It is near the far fence at a very secluded spot. Please follow the pathway and then use the rocks to move in on the cache. Naturally this is a game reserve therefore please be on the lookout for any strange creatures, e.g. snakes, wasps, bees etc. This is a small cache that can hold minimal items but will be upgraded depending on the number of visits.

Moloto Picnic area is on a “not so popular route” in the pilanesberg game reserve. The Moloto road is not the easiest road to travel especially if you are not using a “hi-rider” type vehicle however the views of the Matlhorwe mountains and valleys are absolutely stunning. The mountains and rocky outcrops are home to baboon, klipspringer, leopard and large raptors. Good grassland nearby is where buffalo, reedbuck, giraffe and lion can be seen. A large variety of birds can also be seen in this area. Note: 2009-12-14 Seems the picnic area has reopened after the elephant damage some weeks ago.
