One Duck Lake Traditional Cache
jojo88: Unfortunately this cache has to be archieved. Access to the trails above Emerald Estates are cut off due to construction. More can be read in this news article: http://www.whistlerquestion.com/news/local-news/legal-access-to-emerald-crown-land-cut-off-1.2266405
Hopefully in the future there's access to the trails again so we can enjoy this spot.

This cache is located at One Duck Lake, a small beautiful lake a short (20 min) hike above Emerald Estates. The lake is known to very few, (mainly locals) and is not on the average map. It is one of my favourite spots in Whistler during the summer. Round trip hike can be done in an hour, but give yourself more time to enjoy the lake, and maybe swim.
THIS CACHE IS AVAILABLE SUMMER ONLY!! This is because of snow, and more importantly, flooding. Cache is best found JUNE-SEPTEMBER.
Don't forget bug repellant, sunscreen and your swimsuit!
Start at N50 09.563 W122 55.992, between 9515-9535 Emerald Dr. Head up the wide gravel trail for about 4 minutes, passing the 3 large rocks. 80 metres past the 3 boulders is the start of the trail on the left. Take this trail for 15 minutes, until you see the sign saying "Welcome to One Duck Lake".
Once at the lake, walk across the strip of land in the middle. There are actually 2 lakes, which makes Twin Lakes another name. The lake on the left, is One Duck, and it is a nice swim when the weather's hot. In the summer, this lake is pretty popular, among locals. The rope swing, close to the cache is a favorite for thrill seekers. Follow coordinates to the cache, and make sure that when you re-hide it, it is not visible to muggles!
