The cache is located at an obvious location at a roundabout. The cache is a 400ml sistema containing only small items.
In 1910 of the Dethridge Meter, a simple flow measuring device to measure the flow of irrigation water through an open channel was introduced. The Dethridge Meter has been progressively improved over a number of years with the use of new materials and construction techniques and the introduction of features aimed at eliminating interference by landowners, but the essential elements of the original hydraulic design were virtually unchanged.
The Dethridge wheel is used throughout Australia and in many other countries including U.S.A., Israel and Africa.
Such is the impact of the Dethridge Metre on the landscape and local irrigation reliant communities that it has been used as a dedication to honour 40 years of soldier settlement in this area.
This is just one example of innumerable memorials scattered throughout rural and regional Australia commemorating the sacrifice made by the young men and women during all wars.
