Geocache Description:

Two-step multi. Both waypoints are easily accessible.

The posted coordinates take you to a place I frequented as a child (and as a college student!). The statue here is something that has always intrigued me. You'll need to examine the statue and the plaque that accompanies it.

Final coordinates are at: N 37 22.ABC, W 122 02.DEF.

A = # of letters in the author's name of the book he's reading divided by 3 (these are in large print on the book cover)

BC = the last digit of the year on the plaque x4

DE = # of letters in the second and third lines on the plaque -9

F = # of wooden slats that make up his seat -2

Check sum: A+B+C+D+E+F = 19

Final location is within walking distance of the posted coordinates.

I've left an unactivated trackable GPS Satellite Crossing geopin and a James Monroe dollar coin for FTF on my first multi hide!
