Sailor's Stash Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-Tiki-: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Just off of north Hobbs highway.

Welcome to our first cache! We are sailors, and have been sailing for some time on the Great Lakes. We love to race, and compete each year in the Chicago to Mackinac race. As a result of our love for the sport, we have designed our cache with sailing in mind. Included in our cache is a variety of items related to our sport, in addition to a great 'learn to sail' book from the Offshore Sailing School. Someone, hopefully, will pick up this book and decide to try something new.

The contents of the cache are as follows:

Basic Sailing Book (to share our sport)
2004 and 2006 Chicago to Mackinac Yacht Race patches
Racquet Ball and Tennis Ball (compliments of our dog)
Bite Lite (used during our racing at night - it's red)
Suunto Coat Compass and Thermometer
Marvyn the Martian pencil
Fish Lure Flashlight.

As a 'first to find' goodie, there is a $5 Quiznos gift card included in our cache. Have a small lunch on us.

We've done well in our past sailing events. Our crew has placed in the top 2 competitors in our class for the past 3 out of 4 years. With 2008 marking the 100th running of the Chicago to Mackinac Yacht Race, it will be the one to watch. Each boat carries a GPS transponder unit, and you can watch all the teams compete up Lake Michigan.

Enjoy the cache, and be sure to log your information in our book.

Sincerely and fair winds,

Christopher and Autumn
