Geocache Description:

A nice short but steep hike to a beautiful view of the Hoosic River.

Have seen this granite outcropping many times as I have driven by. Today I noted a trail nearby, and when I followed it, it led right around an old quarry and to this beautiful view. So, I placed a cache here !!

There is room for one car to park on each side of the road at N 42 47.516, W 073 15.330. Take the trailhead up, and follow the biggest road/trail at each fork, and you will eventually reach the quarried cliffs. Follow the trail along the top of the quarry cliff face (be careful) and you will find the cache along this trail.

Please note that the dropoff from the trail above the quarry/cliff and from the left side of the outcropping would likely be fatal. Use extreme caution with children and pets. You do not need to leave the main trail by more than a few feet to retrieve the cache. You NEVER need to go near the edge and NEVER need to climb down a cliff face. So don't !!

There is a beautiful view from the end of this trail about 150 feet beyond the cache.

The cache was moved from it's old location 12/4/2012 per request of the Nature Conservancy to protect the ecosystem and minimize impact and erosion. It is now an easier find and requires no climbing or off trail movement. Thanks !
