The hike to Wallace Lake is great, but dealing with the rules
and regulations of the state park can be difficult. So, you might
want to try starting here. You'll avoid the open/close times, the
crowds, and will cut off close to half the distance to the lake
(okay, not really, but almost). You will endure some clear cuts,
but the views of Mt. Index and Mt. Persus more than make up for it.
