This is one of a series of caches placed along the old Kintore to Alford railway route. There is parking available for this very quick cache and dash.
The station that was here served a very scattered community. It was, however, the goods traffic from the surrounding farms where the line did most of it's trade. In fact the line was so light with passengers that in 1932 the station was only staffed in the middle of the day.. The passenger trains withdrew at the end of 1949.
Now in place of the station is the trailer yard and crane that can be seen as you pass by enroute to Alford.
We tried to get this closer to the Whitehouse side of the line, however for those of you that do the cache, we didn't want to add a boat as specialist equiptment!!
