Geocache Description:

This cache will take you to a recently built foot bridge that spans I-77 just outside of Bolivar. The bridge is part of the ongoing updates to the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. The trail in this area is also known as the Zoar Valley Trail.

There are two ways to get to this cache. The first and easiest way is to park at Fort Laurens State Memorial and hike about .3 mile. Park in the back lot where the turn-around is (N 40-38.242 W081-27.368). Follow the sign for the Zoar Valley Trail. The trail will take you to the bridge/cache.

The second way is much longer, but much more scenic. It is about 2.5 miles one way. Park at Canal Lands Park outside of Zoar on Dover-Zoar Road. N 40-36.418 W081-25.605. From here you can bike (or hike) your way to the cache. The trail surface is crushed stone and rides nice. This section of trail passes the remnants of four canal locks of the Ohio & Erie Canal. There are also benches and trash cans along the trail. If you like biking, this is the way to go.
