Visite a cave in the hills of Sardegna.
Besuche eine Höhle in den Bergen von Sardinien.
During our Sardegnatrip we had a look at this great cave, even if it is not our way to drive in a remote location without a cache. After we explored this cave it was clear: here should be a cache! A box was found quickly and a logbook was made. Because we life in Germany and mostly only come once a year to Italy, the local geocacher Kirkadore will help to maintain the cache - great thanks for this!!!
If you search this cache passing through: we come with our campervan and stayed for the night at the parking coordinate.
For this cache you need a torch of course!
When we were in the cave there had been no bates. But in the logs ist was sometimes told that there were bates and their dirt.
You should cross the traditional stonewall at N40°49.044’ E8°48.501’. The entrance of the cave could be found at N40°49.082’ E8°48.558’. At the beginning the passage is very low, but a few meters later it becomes bigger. There is a clear mainwalk across the cave, you should find the exit without problems. If you follow the walk till the end, you will find a second exit. You can take this one for your way back to daylight. You will find a stairstower there. At this exit the cave could be closed by a chain and a padlock. When we were there it was open. If you have reached this exit without finding the cache, you should go back for about 170 steps from this point.
How to find the cache: If you have passed two big stonesculptures (see photo) on the right side of the trail, which remaind about to a very big snail’s shell, you are close to the cache.

Während unseres Sardinienurlaubes haben wir diese tolle Höhle besichtigt, obwohl es nicht unsere Art ist, eine abgelegene Location ohne Cache anzufahren. Nachdem wir diese Höhle erforscht hatten war klar: hier muss ein Cache hin! Eine Dose war schnell gefunden und ein Logbuch gebastelt. Weil wir in Deutschland leben und meistens ein Mal pro Jahr nach Italien kommen, hilft der lokale Geocacher Kirkadore bei der Wartung des Caches - vielen Dank dafür!!!
Wer diesen Cache auf der Durchreise sucht: wir sind mit dem Wohnmobil angereist und konnten an der Parkkoordinate gut übernachten.
Für diesen Cache braucht ihr natürlich eine Taschenlampe! Als wir in der Höhle waren, war sie frei von Fledermäusen. Aber in den Logs wurde mehrmals von diesen Tieren und auch deren Hinterlassenschaften berichtet.
Ihr solltet bei N40°49.044’ E8°48.501’ den traditionellen Steinwall überqueren. Den Eingang zur Höhle findet ihr bei N40°49.082’ E8°48.558’. Zu Beginn ist der Gang sehr niedrig, wird aber nach einigen Metern größer. Es gibt einen eindeutigen Hauptgang durch die Höhle, ihr solltet also den Ausgang wieder ohne Probleme finden. Wenn ihr dem Gang bis zum Ende folgt, findet ihr einen zweiten Ausgang. Ihr könnte auch diesen für den Rückweg zum Tageslicht benutzen. Dort findet ihr einen Treppenturm vor. An diesem kann der Eingang zur Höhle über eine Kette und ein Schloss verschlossen werden. Als wir dort waren, war es aber offen. Falls ihr bei diesem Ausgang angekommen seid, ohne den Cache gefunden zu haben, solltet ihr von diesem Punkt etwa 170 Schritte zurück gehen.
Wie ihr den Cache findet: Wenn ihr auf der rechten Seite des Weges an zwei großen Steinskulpturen (siehe Photo) vorbei seit, die an riesige Schneckenhäuser erinnern, seit ihr dem Cache sehr nahe.
