Rubik's Cubed! Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Tsmola: 1st stage was muggled again, this time they took the cube and threw the lock and lock in the mud. At about $12 a pop for the first stage every time it's muggled I've decided to pull it rather than keep replacing it. I may use this idea again, but it's not gonna work here on such a busy trail. Both stages have been removed, thanks for visiting everyone!

Geocache Description:

You'll either curse me or laugh at me on this one, depending on
each cacher's experience with one of these.

Park at N 42.13.695 W 85.34.755

Posted coords take you to a small Lock n' Lock along the nice, paved, Portage Bicentennial Trail off Milham road containing a log and puzzle, but this is not the cache!

This cache is based on a puzzle I recently solved, then immediately
thought of making a cache of it. You may remember these
things...big fad in the 80's, but they are kinda making a comeback
now. Supposedly, these can be solved in as little as 18 moves with the aid of a computer. The world record time for solving one is offically somewhere around 10 seconds, but there are unofficial times as fast as 7 or 6 seconds. Unless you are one of these "speed cubers" I'd plan to spend a little more time solving this one. At the posted coords you will find a container with one of these puzzle devices in it. The Puzzle is NOT swag! When you are finished please re-scramble and replace for the next cacher.

Note: These things CAN be solved! PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT: 1.
Take the object apart to solve it. 2. Or try to remove and replace
the stickers, that's cheating! And I don't want to make a bunch of trips there to fix the cube.

You must solve the puzzle on location, I have located the first stage near a convienent bench for you to sit at while you work out the puzzle, be wary of muggles when retrieving and replacing the puzzle container so you don't give away it's location. Once solved you will have the coords for the final cache container. (There is only one way for the coords to show when the puzzle is completely and correctly solved)Final is an ammo can located within walking distance of the first stage with a short, light bushwhack.

I probably won't be of much help, so don't ask me to come with you and solve it for you, it took me almost a week to solve mine. (update: 6/5/08 I managed to solve my cube for the first time without looking at any guides for solving a cube. It took me roughly an hour and a half. Since first hiding this cache, I can now solve the cube in only a minute or two with no help from any guide. If I can do it, ANYONE can!) If you have a cube, I'd reccomend practicing with it at home before you go out to seek this cache, it'll make it a lot easier trust me!

Oh and one last thing, for more fun with this one, it has 2 logbooks, one in the first puzzle stage, and the main one in the final. You MUST sign the logbook in the final to claim your find. The logbook in the first stage is a "gripe" logbook. Where you can vent any frustrations with the puzzle to me, or write mocking comments if you are good with these puzzles. Whatever you want, it's just a fun, mid-way logbook I guess you could say. I figured it would be another interesting aspect to this cache.

The final contains an unactivated travel bug tag for the FTF, Good luck!
