This cache is located along the Fish Creek Road near a Ukranian
grave marker. It was erected in 1917. The direct translation we
found says: "To The Glory of God in memorium of Joseph retsaka and
his wife ________ June 21 year : S13 T 41 R2 M3 : Ma. Fedoriv" This
has been interpreted to mean Joseph Gruysaka (or Hritsak, as the
"g" sound in English and Russian becomes an "h" sound in Ukrainian)
and his wife Avaokia (like Evdokia, an older Ukrainian name) and
the cross was put up by Mr Fedorov. Searching the Western Land

This is probably whom the marker commemorates. We think its pretty
amazing that they were able to make a monument like this in 1917
without any modern tools. Nice to see it standing and in such good
shape. Please ignore the number in the logbook. It is from an old
puzzle cache that no longer exists.
