Geocache Description:

Located in Waynesboro, Georgia. Terrain is not difficult.

While visiting Waynesboro, Georgia we happened across a cemetery located in town. Once walking through the cemetery we noticed that there were 49 unknown Confederate soliders and 12 Union troopers buried in this cemetery.

In 1877 the Confederate Monument was erected in the cemetery by the Ladies Memorial Association. In 1899 it was moved to downtown Waynesboro. In 1942 it was moved back to the cemetery because it was presenting some traffic problems at the downtown location.

This cache is a micro located outside the boundaries of the cemetery. Please no hunting at night!! BYOP.
