Geocache Description:

A nano cache at the Vonda roadside attraction: World's Largest Still. Cache contains only a log. Please BYOP & use stealth as always.

From the 1910's and on thru the years of prohibition, Vonda and vicinity was known as the "Moonshine Capital". This is a large replica of a still used to make homebrew for personal use for special functions or selling as most of us know "Bootlegging." This replica was built by Laurent Bussiere and his son Ronald for the 1997 Vonda Homecoming. There is also a small unit which is a genuine still that individuals have actually used. Also on display is a Rockpicker, built by Rosaire and Laurent Bussiere in 1959/60. This was the first one built. Since then Vonda has become a leading manufacturer of Rockpickers. Vonda has approximately 330 residents.
