A moorland walk of about 4.5 miles, around Llandeilo Hill, reaching a height of 479M. No fences gates or stiles.
Recommended parking is at SO 10802,45783. The pools around here are mostly named and were useful waypoints before GPS was invented. Take the track North via Henllyn pool and Byrgwm pool to the trig point. There are good views from here, a red kite can sometimes be seen. Several times over the years, in this area, I've heard a grouse, quite loud and clear as if nearby, but have never seen it. Collect the 4 numbers off the trig point, ABCD to give the cache position in N 52 06. ( A + 2 ) ( B + 2 ) ( C x 2 ), W 003 1D. ( A - 1 ) ( C x 2 ) ( B - A )
The area is open access. Cradle Rocks is supposedly the site of a bronze age burial cairn. Twm Tobaccos grave is on the boundary because when he died nobody knew which parish he belonged to.
The cache is a plastic box 6 x 4 x 2 inches which originally contained a 'please read' info sheet, log, small biro, pencil, key fob, 2 dice, golf ball, hedgehog and First To Find card._
