Geocache Description:

This cache is the second one in my micro series around the Greater City of Sudbury. This location used to be a great place to gather to watch the slag pots poured from one of the largest nickel producers in the world. In winter the sights and sounds of the molten red slag against the white snow and the sounds of the snow as it vapourised was a sight to be seen. It is much harder to see the slag pouring now as the site of the pour has moved towards the right of the view from here. It is a great example of the re-greening efforts of the major nickel companies to return the land to the way it was before they arrived.
