Geocache Description:

SHEARER, JOHN (1845-1932) agricultural machinery manufacturer and inventor.
In the early days of agriculture Australian farmland covered with mallee and native pine had to be cleared; farmers needed tough, durable equipment. John Shearer made grubbing machines and fixed ploughs, scarifiers, harrows and strippers.
John and his three sons opened a factory at Kilkenny in 1904; this factory started with twelve men who produced three ploughs a week
John Shearer died on 9 August 1932 at his Kilkenny home. A stocky, red-bearded, gruff man, he believed that 'soil is wealth, neither to be hoarded nor squandered. Land worked wisely is what we need', and he adhered to his motto, 'Work is life and idleness is death'.
At GZ is a "Majestic" one of hundreds that helped in clearing many thousands of acres of farm land throughout Australia.
The John Shearer factory was to the north between the railway line and Port Road.
A small container with note pad and pencil only.
PS: Take something to open container.
