Geocache Description:


Den åtte tonn tunge budeiestatuen er laget av kunstneren Øyvind Storbækken, med god hjelp av sine venner fra Vietnam. Han fikk klare meldinger fra Bygdekvinnelaget på hvordan budeia skulle se ut. Ung og frodig.
Den unge budeia, hugget ut av lokal granitt fra Olaberget, er akkurat ferdig med lørdagsvasken.
Budeia ble avduket samtidig som Vingelen ble erklært åpnet som nasjonalparklandsby.
Fem tettsteder i Norge har fått denne statusen. Det innbærer at Vingelen skal være servicesenter for Forelhogna Nasjonalpark med blant annet klare planer for miljø og stedsutvikling. Et sted der folk skal trives.

The eight-ton heavy statue of the milkmaid is made by sculptor Øyvind Storbækken, with the aid of his Vietnamese friends.
It looks like a young and vigorous woman, just finished her weekend wash.
At the unveiling ceremony, Vingelen also was declared as a national park village. It means that Vingelen has to be a service centre for the Forelhogna national park.
