Geocache Description:

Park at Hog Lake Plateau, 40.2793,-122.1221.
Easy walk or bike ride to within striking distance of cache.

First let me mention “BE AWARE OF SNAKES!” We did not run across any but it does looks like snake country. Take caution when searching for the cache and recovering it! Would suggest using a stick to poke around with when searching for the cache.

Now for the fun stuff: This is our first cache to be placed. Tried to rate it using this sites rating system. Less than two miles from parking area along service road. The service road is in great shape and an easy ride on a mountain bike. Once you get to the cache it is approx. a 100 yard easy hike. Excellent view of the valley from the Natural Bench. Very little shade for summer trekking, might wait for a cool evening or early morning during the summer season!
I have been told that this trail continues down to the Sacramento River, we did not make it there today. Great place to visit! Hopefully some more caches will start populating this plateau area?
