19 & 20 July 2008

Peach Trees Campsite

Jimna

The event will be a vehicle based navigation event and camping weekend.

Open to 2WD and 4WD vehicles. All vehicles must be able to drive on gravelled forest roads as depicted in the pictures.

The main event will start on saturday at 12:00 pm. Please make sure you sign in before this time. s

The event is points based so you can have as long as you like to enjoy the scenery. There will be a staggered start based on 'Sign in' order. There may well also be a few 'challenges' en-route.

All questions will have a strong Australian theme. There are five topics:

Geography
Parks
History
Towns
Nature

There will also be Kid Stops on the way to keep the little ones entertained.

Waypoints will be provided by GPX file. Please ensure that you bring suitable leads to enable this to be uploaded to your GPS. Most Garmin units have been tried previously, but if you have a different make of GPS, please test that you can do this or contact me asap, so that I can come up with a solution. (there are 100plus waypoints - feel free to do them by hand if you like!)

The route for the event is 36kms,nearest fuel is at Kilcoy.

UPDATE

You will need to make a booking for the campsite in advance on the EPA website. Click this link to get to the site. There is NO self registration on site!

If you wish to go to the site eary, please feel free. The event will be run from as near to the gateway as possible to minimise disturbance to other campers. There is a large flat area on the left just inside the gate, if anyone is there early, please try to grab a bit of space and warn anyone else.

The main questions were based on how well applicants knew Australia and its inhabitants. To attain citizenship, applicants must score higher than 75% Applicants scoring below this therefore are to be Deported! Congratulations to the Citizens.

The bonus carried a large weighting to reflect how well applicants had tried to integrate into the local community, and got to know the neighbours in Monsildale.
