NICE PATHS, CACHE IS JUST OFF THE TRAIL ABOUT 20 FEET OR SO. THE ENTIRE WALK IS JUST OVER 1 MILE ROUND TRIP DEPENDING ON YOUR EXACT ROUTE. RESTROOMS ON SITE. MAPS AT ENTRANCE WITH COLOR CODED TRAILS. TRAILS HAVE COLORED PAINT ON RANDOM TRES AS YOU WALK. DOG FRIENDLY. SOME HILLS, BUT NOT BAD.
This is WHO-DEY's first ever cache. The Cache is launched with many fun things inside. My son picked many of them. I filled in the rest. It is an ammo box.
These woods are very special to my son and I. We walk here nearly every week with our Vizsla, Lucy. She loves to swim in the man made lake. Somehow, she feels she can slip in the water and sneak up on any unsuspecting Mallards.
There is a reason and meaning why I created this cache. This cache was launched with a newly activated GeoCoin. The GeoCoin was activated and launched to honor the time I spent with my dad Steelhead and Brown Trout fishing on the Pere Marquette, White, and Muskegon rivers. Those times are special to both he and I.
And now it is my turn as a Dad. So, I try to spend as much time outdoors and in nature with my son. That is why I created the cache. To give my son and I some more reasons to get out and spend some time together. And what better place to hide it than here. Both the GeoCoin and the cache are to remind us dad's to take some time with our kid's.
You and your children may never know how wonderful these slow mornings, afternoons, or evenings in the woods together are, until he has child of his own. So grab your son (or daughter), or dad, get out to Riley Woods, and take a walk. It is a beautiful park, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring.
