OHIO SPIRIT
QUEST
The "SQ" in the
cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project by the Northwest
Ohio Geocachers to distinguish those caches that are set in
cemeteries or memorial gardens. This cache is part of that series
created by NWOGEO members to highlight cemeteries or memorial
gardens in the area. Please be respectful of the area, and observe
their rules and posted hours which are typically sunrise to
sunset.

Welcome to Butler Cemetery!
Chesterfield Township, Fulton County,
Ohio

The U.S. Government deeded land to Harlow Butler in 1835 and the
following year the Butler family became the fourth family to settle
in Chesterfield township. In that same year, the first burial was
made at the corner of the farm on grounds that became known as the
Butler Cemetery. In 1866, Harlow and Mary Butler deeded the
cemetery grounds to the trustees of Chesterfield
Township.
There are soldiers from the Civil War, World War I, World War II,
and the Korean War buried here.
Congrats to Mrs. Team Coxaaron for the FTF!
